Post subject: Driver Installation Problems |

Here is a full, very detailed method that should fix any driver problems that you may be having, please make sure to follow every step.
- Disconnect your cell phone. Download and run this application: Motorola Driver Installation
- Now restart your computer.
- Turn your phone on, and connect your phone to your computer by USB. If you are prompted with a "Find New Hardware Wizard", select "Install Software Automatically" and press next to complete the driver installation.
- Now goto the "Start" menu, and select "Run..." Type in "devmgmt.msc" and press OK. The "Device Manager" should now open.
- Double click on the "Modems" category and look for "Motorola USB Modem". If you can see this, move onto step (6). If you do not see the "Motorola USB Modem", see (a)
(a) Look for items in the Device Manager list with yellow question marks next to them. If you find one with "Motorola" in the title, double click on it to open a "Properties" window. Choose "Reinstall Drivers", and then select the "Install Software Automatically" option (it may be under the drivers tab). The drivers should now install, and you should have a "Motorola USB Modem" device under the "Modems" section. Disconnect your phone, wait 5 seconds, then reconnect it.
- Now open to the MotoBlaze software (accessible through the Start Menu>Program Files). Login, select your phone model, but skip the "Install Drivers" button. Instead, skip straight to "Trigger and Test Drivers". After a few seconds, an error message will appear in the software (ignore this for the moment), and a Windows "Found New Hardware" will appear. Select "Install Software Automatically" on the "Found New Hardware Wizard", and finish it by pressing next. Once you have closed this, another "Found New Hardware" wizard should appear. Keep completing these wizards in this way until no more appear.
- Now all the drivers are installed. Select "OK" on the software's error message.
- The red light should now turn green, allowing you to progress to the next step.
If the above procedure does not work, please check the following:
- Uninstall all software that may communicate with your Motorola phone. In particular, make sure to uninstall Motorola (Mobile) Phone Tools (MPT) if you have that installed.
- Make sure you are using a windows XP computer that has Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed. If you do not have it installed, you can find out more at this Windows XP SP2 Page.
If you continue to have problems, please email us at sales@motounlocknow.com - please explain exactly what you have done, what motorola devices are showing in your computer's device manager, and what is going wrong. We can then try to troubleshoot any problems you may be having. |
