Motorola V3xx Unlocking

I sent for my code and when I was promted to enter my subsidy code, I got about five numbers in. The phone froze and then shut itself off. I connected it to the wall charger and it doesn't appear to be getting a charge. It's as if my phone's now dead.

What gives?

I was excited to get this code and I feel like I'm now out a phone.
