The Motorola L2 (also known as the V270) is a new addition to the Motorola lineup that includes a range of new features and is in it's essence quite similar to the Motorola SLVR V8. This L2 is a tri-band phone with a super-slim profile and very small weight (just 80g). The phone also offers Bluetooth compatibility and up to 380 hours of standby time on its provided battery. The main difference between this phone and the V3 models is that the L2 has no camera and does not offer the flip-phone design.

The Motorola L2 is the first attempt by a phone manufacturer to create an attractive, light, yet low-budget phone without a camera. In general, most OEM phone manufacturers seem to consider phones with cameras as their higher end models, however many users have no use for a camera on the phones, particularly not the low quality cameras that are found on so many models. That is why the Motorola L2 is a particularly important and well-produced design.

We expect that the Motorola will be released on a range of networks around the world in the first half of 2006. It has been rumored on some websites that the phone may be available as early as the end of 2005 on some networks. Many providers, particularly in Europe and Australia, will be offering this phone as a pay-as-you-go option.
